colour & crochet crush overload : Sophie Digard at Lili et Nene

colour crochet crush overload : Sophie Digard at Lili et Nene | Emma Lamb

It's been a wee while since I've featured any of Sophie Digard's stunning crochet around here, but right now I am crushing hard on the spring summer collection over at Lili en Nene. Every scarf and necklace is just as astonishingly pretty as you would expect and her use of earthy pastels is always a joy, but when you get up closer and really examine the colour details there are a few gorgeous surprises...

Sophie Digard's trademark style is to use multiple strands of delicate yarn, linen in this case, to blend subtle tweedy pastel tones, always with that earthy feel as though they were inspired by natural landscapes. This collection makes me think of summer seascapes with hints of fruity sorbet and ice cream tones. I really enjoy getting in closer to pick out the individual colours, it's the palettes there that can be really surprising. Either unexpected colours such as the yellow and aqua in the floral scarf or an entirely new palette that you just didn't expect such as in the delicate lace scarf above. From a distance the colours blend into a dominating grey but get in a little closer and there are hints of mint, peach, sea foam green, brick red, plum and the palest of pinks. Isn't it gorgeous!?

This last necklace (below) is one of my absolute favourites from Sophie Digard. The summery candy colours are just perfect and the crochet & velvet combo looks so tactile and beautiful and delicate and pretty! Total colour & crochet crush going on here! What I love most about it is that when you're not wearing it's loveliness it would make the cutest little garland stung up on the wall. Jewellery this pretty must not be hidden away in your wardrobe, that would be criminal!
