celebrating National Wool Week

National Wool Week | Emma Lamb

Yay, it's National Wool Week here in the UK! A fabulous week long awareness campaign run by The Campaign For Wool, packed full with wonderful woolly events ranging from fashion students designing wool jumpers to knitting picnics and demonstrations from the likes of Erika Knight, Rowan, Arne & Carlos and Milamia in John Lewis stores in Edinburgh and London. Check out the events page for a full list or stop by The Campaign For Wool's Facebook page to see updates as they happen.

To commemorate National Wool Week here on my blog I thought I would do a wee round up of some delicious hand dyed wool yarns from some great indie yarn dyers right here in the UK. Is it self indulgent? Only slightly. Is it going to be rough on my bank balance? Definitely! Am I going to be sneaky about delivery of piles of delicious yarn so that my Man doesn't notice and start complaining that I already have too much yarn and try to impose some kind of yarn buying ban!? Hell Yeah!

Oh, and if you know of any other great yarn dyers that I don't know about do leave me a wee note in the comments and I'll take a peek. No matter what my Man says, a girl can never have too much yarn now can she!?
