a crafty weekend in the woods : Folksy Summer School

The Folksy Summer School, 10th & 11th August 2013, Sheffield, UK. | Emma Lamb

Have you heard about the fabulous Folksy Summer School? It sounds amazing!

In August the lovely folks at Folksy are putting on a two day event of talks, workshops and demonstrations centered around the theme of improving your handmade business. Whether it's learning a new craft, honing your photography or blogging skills, or getting some fantastic tips and advice from some seasoned pros...

"The Folksy Summer School is two days of learning for designers and makers. It's in the woods, in the height of summer, in a little corner of Sheffield where we can't be disturbed.

We're bringing together experts in branding, marketing, social media, photography, selling, making and creating, all with the aim of helping designers and makers get better at what they do.

As well as lessons from all the clever clogs you'll also have the opportunity to see demonstrations from skilled makers in screen printing, lino cutting and sewing skills, learn how to take killer product shots in our photography workshops and grab some one to one mentoring on the StartUp Britain Bus.

With a picnic lunch and local ice cream available, what's not to like?"

  2. I'd love to come but there are too many miles between there and here, sadly! Maybe I could dust off my broomstick and fly over!!! Do enjoy it!

  3. I've got my ticket and can't wait. Is anyone booking a hotel for their stay in Sheffield, I thought it would be cool to all be close by for after the event chatter.
