Goodness me, a whole week between blog posts! I really am off my blogging game at the moment aren't I!?

To be honest I'm not really sure why though... While I have been consistently busy with crochet orders and lots of exciting opportunities, not to mention tinkering with new ideas and organising a spiffy not-so-new-but-properly-functioning-computer to work from, my blogging voice seems to have been strangely quiet. I don't like that at all... !

I need to put this right. I need to find my bloggy groove again. I have to because I enjoy blogging so much. It helps to inspire and motivate me. It helps me to feel part of a lovely community despite spending most of my days on my own with only my wee man Spanner for company, he doesn't really get the crochet thing and assumes that whenever I talk to him it will somehow result in food!

Anyhoo, I think a wee bit of time management might be in order. Since things are getting busier all the time around here it might be a good idea to structure my days a wee bit more than I have been and find a good routine to work in. Set aside specific time slots when I know my mind is fresh for answering emails, writing blog posts or updating my Facebook page. Setting aside a couple of hours in the afternoon when I know the light is 'just right' in my wee studio for photographing work and freeing up the rest of my time for all the good things like crochet, browsing Etsy and Pinterest, chatting to friends and spending important time offline. Being offline lately has felt good but I think I need to find a better balance... it feels daunting yet liberating just talking about this. I feel more optimistic already!

I'm intrigued though, what do you guys do to stay on top of it all? How do you find balance and keep yourselves motivated? I need your tips and advice on this one, a wee helping hand so to speak... :)

Oh, and I really should mention today's gorgeous collection from our fabulous Flickr group 'making everyday beautiful'. Spring is most definitely in the air and don't you all know it! I love all these beautiful florals and delicate pastels... just the lift I need this morning!
I you like you can find Nest Pretty Things' beautiful earrings here, Ethanollie's vintage crepe paper decorations here and a fab wee 'how-to' for One Little Bird's illustration here... :)

  1. Afraid I can't offer any advice as I seem to be in the same place as you at the moment, Emma! Perhaps it's the weather!

  2. Don't worry Emma, we all have times like this where feeling motivated with our work is hard, but its important to know there are many others out there feeling the same.
Whenever I have times like this, I sit on the bed, get some new sewing materials together for inspiration and whip out the chocolate! Hope you feel inspired soon :) safxxx

  3. Again, I would like to say that some of us are in the same boat is you dear Emma. There is a bit of a thing in the spring when seems like we want to get everything organized. However you can accomplish it, I hope you can get everything in sync. Have a wonderful week! :-) And oh yes, I love this combination of beautiful spring photography... Such talent!

  4. I find the only way to organize is to make a list Emma. Otherwise I just dilly dally between jobs, once I've stuck it down on paper I get really motivated and find myself being super efficient! Of course sometimes I do have to drop things from my list, usually the thing beginning with H, You know........... housework LOL!
have to just say am loving your Making every day beautiful posts. ♥

  6. Maybe nail down what days you want to post each week so that you don't think you'll get to it "sometime", but actually have a nearer deadline?

I will say I love the images in this post!
