Good morning y'all... !
As we missed last week's Monday post I have worked extra specially hard to pull together what I think is an absolutely gorgeous collection from 'all colours in' for you this morning. These are some of my most favourite spring images from the group that have been added recently. They have that gorgeous 'granny chic' vibe going on too and I so wish there was space for this lovely dining room in my wee home! Oh, and I just couldn't resist the cute wee Scottie dog and jelly bears... yummy!

Before I pop off to put my wee nose up against that grindstone again I shall wish you all the most fabulous Monday... :)

colour palette ~ spring... at last!

Hi guys! Happy, happy Friday to you... :)
It is so lovely to finally have the spring here, it makes me happy! Not that I didn't enjoy this last winter, it was so much better than our usual British winters of relentless dreary dull greyness. Yes there was a lot more snow and it was a wee bit colder than usual but there was also tons of bright sunny days. Usually in February I'm crawling the walls with the miserable winter blues, but not this year! Despite all that it's still kinda good to know that it won't get really chilly again till next winter... ;)

I do hope you are loving all of today's colour palette images, they are some of my absolute favourites from Flickr at the moment. Of course Ciel's yummy macaroons come top but I'm also loving Kristybee's pretty pink English Roses. Please do check her lovely Etsy shop for more of her beautiful floral photography. All of her prints are on a 40% sale just now, so if you are looking to spruce up you own picture wall for this spring you could bag yourself a wee bargain... :)

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,
Emma, x

wall flowers...

Happy Wednesday my dears!

I do hope you are in the mood for some flowery spring goodness!? While the sun has been shining the flowers have been a growing. The daffodils in our local park are looking wonderful and if I didn't know how many times they had been 'visited' by pups with full bladders I would get up close and snap some pretty pics of them for you!

My wee studio is almost overflowing with the flowers that are growing there. That is those of the colourful crocheted variety, which are creeping their way up the walls spreading a wee touch of spring cheer as they go... :)

As soon as I took these pics yesterday I started packing them away for the Selvedge fair and already I am missing them. I so want to make more, I want to have them dripping down every wall in my wee house! I can't even begin to imagine how long it would take to crochet all those flowers so I will just have to be content with my imagining them... at least for the time being!

Oh, and thank you all so very much for your lovely birthday wishes! I am obsessed with my gorgeous new teapot and am thinking that there might not be enough fresh mint in the world to satisfy my urge to make tea that just looks so darn pretty!

a day off...

Hello my dears... :)
You might have noticed the lack of a Monday post this week. I gave myself the day off yesterday to celebrate the coming of spring and getting yet another year older... :)

 height=

It was so lovely to have a quiet day all to myself. Lazing around watching some new (to me) films ~ Quo Vadis with Peter Ustinov and Appaloosa with Ed Harris, while sipping soothing mint tea made in my brand new glass teapot (which I am absolutely in love with btw, thank you my gorgeous man!) and nibbling some utterly delicious Dolfin chocolate (thank you again my gorgeous man!!!).
Below: Dolfin chocolate flavours are ginger, mint leaves, pink peppercorn and 88% cocoa. All delicious and wrapped in very pretty colours... :)

 height=

It was so good to have a wee rest, you guys were right I did need it! Thank you... :)
So today, despite Mr Lurgy still lurking in the shadows, I am feeling much brighter and ready to tackle the final leg of that 'to do list' before the fair. We have had wonderful wall to wall blue skies and sunshine in Edinburgh lately, so today I took the opportunity to photograph a bunch of new garlands. I'll drop in with those sometime tomorrow... :)

Until then my dears, I hope you all have the most perfectly perfect day... !

colour palette ~ sombre reflection...

I'm finding it difficult to be upbeat today, despite the sun finally shining! I feel tired and that awful Mr Lurgy is lurking around here somewhere! Oh, and this is my third attempt to write this post as the damn page keep crashing!
My man has instructions to bring home a bottle of wine for a cosy evening in, but until then I am pottering around the house trying (not very hard!) to do a wee bit of work here and there. Although it was good to take a wee break from that (!) to put together this colour palette for us. It is quite a sombre one I know, but it gave me a moment to reflect on the events of this last week and month. I hope it can do the same for you if you need it?

Remember to take the time to enjoy the wee things in life and I wish you all safe and peaceful weekend,
Emma, x

wishing for sunshine...

Miss Hilda, Miss Esther, Miss Lillian and myself have spent all week desperately hoping and wishing for just a wee bit of sunshine to help cheer us up and maybe give us a reason to smile...

Hilda and Esther Hilda Esther Hilda and Esther

But goodness knows how hard it is to find a reason to smile when you see pictures and reports of the shocking devastation and aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. It leaves you numb. It is almost beyond comprehension and understanding. The speed and severity of it. The fragility of life in the face of our unpredictable and violent planet. So much loss...

I know that everyone does what the are capable of to help and will continue to do so for as long as they are able to, whether privately or publicly. It is impossible to ask for more than that...

Ah, I so need these sunny colours today... ! It is so grey and miserable in Edinburgh this morning and has been all weekend, we even had more snowy sleet and it was so cold... ugh! Thank goodness for our wee 'all colours in' Flickr pool, it is such a great pick me up to ponder over all that wonderful yummy colour... :)

Now that I'm feeling a wee bit more cheery I'm ready to tackle more of that gigantic crochet to do list. Today I'm thinking of pot holder and tiny wee pin cushions... :)

I do hope the sun is shining on you today,

colour palette ~ dreamy blues and nude pinks...

Hello again my lovelies, I do hope you're all having a fab Friday... !?
I doing my best to stay cool, calm and collected and not let my fretfulness get the most of me. So to help with that I thought a lovely calm and soothing spring colour palette would be just the ticket. Peachy pink blossoms and soft dreamy blues are helping immensely and I could happily watch Cassia's fish (not) swim about their tank for hours... well, maybe not hours but you know what I mean... :)

Anyhoo, now I am feeling much less fretful and looking forward to the weekend... I do wish you all the most fabulous one possible,
Emma, x

meet the newest ladies...

Hello, hello, hello... !
I'm so sorry for leaving you guys so high and dry on blog posts this week! Seriously, I can't believe it is Friday already... where on earth did the week go!? Since dropping in with my usual post on Monday the week has just vanished in a blur of crochet activity. Which has been great, but today I can't help but feel a wee bit fretful as the Selvedge fair is drawing ever nearer... only three weeks to go!
So to tantalise your taste buds here is the first batch of new cushions...

 height=

You know, sometimes a group photo like this can make it seem like I haven't been working my ass off at all... So let me put that right with what is almost as obscene amount of photos that we can all swoon over! (I am seriously swooning over these lovely ladies myself and half wondering if and how I can keep some of them for myself... Ha, if I keep thinking like this I'll have nothing to take to the fair... !)

Miss SelmaMiss Selma, button detail.Miss VelmaMiss Velma, button detail.

These two lovely ladies with their tiny kaleidoscopic squares are Miss Selma and Miss Velma, almost identical twins! It is these two ladies in particular that I am having a few separation issues over... :)

 height= height=

This retro fabulous lady is the gorgeous Miss Mildred. I also have quite the soft spot for her as I have spent some time developing her pattern to get it just right and I absolutely love it! She already has a more springy looking sister in the making, but more about her another day... :)

 height= height=

Ah, the gorgeous Miss Gladys... Perfectly round and so perfectly granny chic, what more could you ask for from a granny cushion... !?

Miss EsmeMiss Esms, button detail.

Oh, and last but by no means least is Miss Esme... My signature cushion design looking so fresh and fun with her bright spring colours and cute mismatched vintage buttons... :)

Phew! I feel better now... ;)

Eeek, my fingers just realised they haven't been crocheting for over an hour now and are starting to get a wee bit twitchy! Must go and appease their twitching (and my fretfulness) but I will do my very best to pop back later with a pretty colour palette to ease us into the weekend... :)

Until then have fun,

Good morning my lovelies, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend... !?
Mine was good, I squeezed in a wee bit of r'n'r between crocheting and finishing up some cushions. There are one or two more that also need a few finishing touches before I photograph them, so stay tuned for those pictures later this week... :)

I do hope you like today's selection from 'all colours in'... I think I'm feeling a wee bit rebellious with these bold brights after all the spring pastels I posted last week. Black isn't really a colour I've used much in my work but I'm really loving it here, it makes all those bright sunny shades sing out even more. Maybe I should be a wee bit braver and try to incorporate it in a couple of other cushions I have on the hook just now... I know I have a lovely charcoal grey yarn that has been sitting on my shelf for way too long! I know, I know, it's not black... but it is a step in the right direction, albeit a slightly hesitant one... haha!

Wishing you all a very happy Monday,

colour palette ~ you're making me blush... !

eeeek! It's Friday again and that means the craft fair is only four weeks away, which in crocheting terms really doesn't feel like very long at all... *gulp* ...I just need to keep calm and crochet on!
Oh, but I am absolutely thrilled at the response you all gave my new organic pot holders and spring garland colours, thank you so much for all your kind words... :)

But today is Friday and Friday's are all about the colour palettes...

Last year I remember I was head over heels for all things mustard yellow or teal and turquoise shades, but this year I have to say I'm really feeling the pink trend. Particularly these blushing, rosy, peachy pinks after squeezing in a wee spot of Etsy window shopping and finding these gorgeous pieces. How incredible is this folded paper bowl!? If you love that you will love taking a peek at Ruti's other stunning paper creations... she must have so much patience!!!

Wishing you all a fabulous weekend,

fresh spring flowers...

Happy, happy Thursday... !
Other than today's very chilly weather, what is not to be happy about when there are piles of pretty spring flowers everywhere I look... !?
As soon as I had decided to take part in this craft fair I also decided to undertake another mammoth task. I'm not sure how this wee idea got into my head but once it did I just couldn't shift it. This idea was that I should have a stock of garland flowers waiting in the wings, waiting for their moment to shine when a custom order would pop into my inbox... great idea I thought! Of course that was before I did the maths, if I had done the maths I'm sure I would have thought... 'nah, bugger it!'

 height=

But I didn't, so here I am now living in my wee studio with over four hundred colourful wee blooms, and then some! Fingers crossed for some custom orders, eh... !?
This mountain of flowers includes some brand new colours just in time for the spring. Four gorgeous shades including ~ mustard, silver, soft pink and soft teal...

 height=  height=  height=

I'm so completely in love with these new colours and their softness. They just look so beautiful together and especially so with a wee hint of apple green, as Miss Mimi here is demonstrating so well... :) She and a pile of other new garlands (that I will show you more of next week) will all be coming to London with me. So while I won't be adding any new garlands to the shop for a wee while, I will be updating the colour options for the 'Design your own' listings... :)

the organic collection...

Hello my dears... :)
I am in full production mode this week and despite the fact that I've been crocheting like a maniac for a few weeks I finally feel like I'm starting to get a collection organised for the Selvedge craft fair. Things are starting to come together and instead of randomly working on half a dozen different ideas at once I'm focusing on getting some pieces properly finished. The first of which is those organic pot holders I worked on last week, I've expanded the collection to include a yummy pink yarn and some pretty lacy designs. Yesterday I happily spent an hour or so embroidering their wee signature tags and putting together the swing tags. Then today we got a great opportunity for a wee photography session, Edinburgh has been so sunny and the light in my wee studio was just perfect... :)

I'm really loving this new lacy design, they are really fun to crochet and I'm already planning on adding a few to my original (non-organic) collection. I'm thinking some pretty spring pastels would look great, maybe inspired by this sorbet colour palette, oh but definitely this lovely floral one... :)
