a celebratory wee giveaway!

Win this hand colourful crochet Penny garland by Emma Lamb

Hello my dears and a very happy Thursday to you all! So as the title of this wee post states I'm having a wee celebratory giveaway today - yay! I'm celebrating that I now have over 1000 of you lovelies showing your support for my wee blog by following it with that wee 'friend connect' widget thingy... that's the one, it has all of your pretty pictures on it! It is an absolute honour and quite frankly blows me away that you all are happy to read my daily mumblings and appreciate all the pretty things I like to share with you. So I want to say a huge thank you to you all with the opportunity to win a very unique garland that I have been working on for months now...

This is miss Edith... (my most favourite name for naming my ladies!)

Win this hand colourful crochet Penny garland by Emma Lamb
Win this hand colourful crochet Penny garland by Emma Lamb
Win this hand colourful crochet Penny garland by Emma Lamb

Miss Edith is made up of all the snippets of colourful yarns left over from all the garlands I have made over the last few months. Instead of using those leftovers for useful jobs such as tying packages and whatnot I thought it would be a fab idea to make them into a very special 'one of a kind' garland! Oh, and as I have already earmarked the next lot of snippets for some pretty clothes hanger covers Miss Edith will be truly unique for a very long time!

So, if you would like to be in with the chance of winning Miss Edith please leave a wee comment on this post telling me what it is that keeps you coming back again and again to read my wee blog, or why you even decided to pledge your support and follow it in the first place, simple! I'll be leaving this giveaway open over the weekend and will choose a winner sometime next week, Tuesday if I'm organised or Thurday if I'm not and possibly even Wednesday depending on how things go. I'll not ask you to write it in your dairies, ha!

Oh, and one or two rules to keep things fair...
- Please only post your entries in the comment thread of this post, comments posted elsewhere will not be eligible.
- Please ensure that you leave a way for me to contact you directly if you win, preferably a current and valid e-mail address. If there is no way to contact you, you will not be eligible to win.
- I will contact the winner directly and place an announcement on this blog. If I do not hear back from the winner within three days I will choose an alternative winner for this giveaway.
- This giveaway is open to all my blog readers worldwide.
- You do not have to be a follower through 'Google Friend Connect' as I know that not everyone uses this method to keep up to date with their favourite blogs.
- I will choose a winner myself and all decisions are final.

Wishing you all the most fabulous day!
Emma, x

I love Miss Edith (my grandmothers name), such pretty colours, she reminds me of Dolly Mixtures! :)
I keep coming back because of all the lovely items you make, the way you put your colour palettes together and make them look just right, the little glimpses of beautiful Edinburgh and because when I visit here I always want to get my hook and yarn and crochet.

  27. I follow your blog, have it delivered right to my inbox! I love the color, the crochet, but mostly the color palette posts. I love to crochet, but am not blessed with the creativity you are and I consistently flag your color palette posts to help me choose colors for my projects. Thank you!

  28. Dear Emma,
I started follow you one years ago, although I'm not very active here! I keep coming back because in my opinion crochet is not just an art (that, by the way, you do perfectly) but also a way to inspired people. I'm a crochet addicted, and making crochet "save" me when I moved away from my family. Anyway, I really like your blog and your creativity..maybe "creativity will save us"!! ;-)

  34. Dear Emma, what a beautiful giveaway and congratulations on having such a great readership. I find your blog serene and gently beautiful. I love the tone of the photography and the colour me posts - which often lead me to other great sites. I don't knit or crochet so the appeal for me is really the beauty of the blog and the talent you have for capturing loveliness.

  35. Hello Emma
writing from the Southern Highlands in Australia. Such a cheery and uplifting garland for a give-away.
I follow you and your craft as I am keen to start crotchet again having not done any since about age 12. Up until 2 years ago I was stressed, overworked and always seemed to be scowling. Then at age 44 I became a Mum and gave up work, sold my house, and began searching for my creative side to fill our little rented cottage with bliss.

Your style and writing give me joy. Thanks heaps.

  36. I'm a big one for following my instincts. When a new post from you shows in my google reader I get all fidgety and excited. I love crochet, colour and cheese and pickle sandwiches and, though I know you don't feature that last one on your blog, the crochet and colour is enough for me!! Congrats. Give yourself a well-deserved hug :) Oh, and have one from me too x

I cannot remember exactly when I did find your blog, it was last year sometime, but what I enjoy the most is your honesty and orginality. It is very clear from your blogging that you are passionate about what you do and you work hard at it.

You highlight that crochet is not a dying craft and it is not just my Granny who can do it!

Finally, your colour palette's are amazing. I have saved so many on my desktop for later inspiration. So thank you!

  62. Hi Emma;

I don’t remember how I came upon your blog (I think it was probably via etsy), but I remember why I added it to my Google Reader list: I’ve recently rediscovered the pleasure of crocheting (I was taught to crochet in school at age 10 and then my grandma continued to teach me from there on), and I found your work to have a great young, modern twist on such a traditional, granny-related craft. So I use your blog mainly for inspiration (not just from your work, I also love the photos you post), especially because I love your choice of colours … I also one day hope to buy one of your cushions, so I need to keept your details handy!

Good luck to all of us! Carolina
