Seriously, how could we not have a wee Halloween special today... !?
I'm sure none of you will be sick of seeing pumpkin orange teamed with spooky black and zombie green on a backdrop of ghoulish white!
I'm off to stock up on wine and popcorn for staying up into the wee hours of the morning watching super scary movies. Don't worry though, I have my wee man to protect me from all kinds scary spooks once the witching hour is upon us... ;)
If you have any spooky film recommendations please do leave a wee note in the comments. I can't promise I'll be brave enough to watch them, but I'd love to know what would scare the pants off you... !!!
Have a fabulous weekend and enjoy all the spooky shenanigans you're going to be getting up to... :)

My lovely ladies are also taking part in this season's exhibition, right here. If you have a moment to pop by, please do! I'm sure you will be able to find something you love as there are over 100 exhibitors taking part just now. Meaning that these delightful items I've picked out today are just a tiny wee handful of what loveliness there is waiting to be found... :)
Wishing you all a very happy Thursday!

today i'm loving...
In fact I love everything over at Isak and have done for so long now, but I think these cards would make a really great alternative christmas card. This year I'm thinking of choosing something that's not so traditionally 'festive' and these would definitely make the shortlist!
I know it's probably a wee bit too early for some of you to be considering anything vaguely christmas related! But I'm trying my bestest to be a wee bit more organised than last year when I completely ran out of time and didn't send any cards at all. It just didn't seem right doing them by e-mail... ha! I'm an old fashioned girl at heart... :)
Wishing you all a sunny day,

up for a challenge...
A couple of weeks ago the ever so lovely Helen invited to take part in Most Wanted's Autumn Home Styling Challenge. The idea of the challenge is to re-style and update a room without having to go so far as redecorating or even touching a paintbrush. That is to find some gorgeous items from around the web to spruce up said room and get it ready and perfectly cosy for the autumn. The only catch being that all those gorgeous items need to be under £50.00 as Most Wanted is the lifestyle magazine of VoucherCodes.co.uk. One of those clever money saving websites that brings together discounts and voucher codes, for all kinds of British retailers, in one handy dandy and easy to find place... :)
So of course you all know how much I love to find pretty things and co-ordinate them together in one happy collection of loveliness! Also, I especially love the idea of sticking to to the £50.00 budget, as quite often I'm also on a tight budget when it comes to home decor delights.
So without further ado my wee collection of loveliness, inspired by one of my all time favourite colour pairings ~ aqua and mustard! I think this palette is perfect for the autumn and winter as it has a lovely kind of rustic warmth. I'm sure you'll agree that you can't help but feel cosy with these lovelies sprucing up your living room... :)

Wishing you all a very cosy day... :)

Hello my sweets, how are you all today?
I'm still on a wee bit of an aqua / turquoise kick at the moment, that's why I've picked out these lovely turquoise images from 'all colours in' today for your appreciation. I just love how it can take a different feeling depending which other colours you pair it with. It looks so refreshing and vibrant when tamed with those bright, clean yellows in the top picture. But then it takes on a lovely vintage and nostalgic sense in the next three pictures when teamed with greens, pinks and reds. Of course in the last picture it looks so bold, fun and dramatic against the dark reddish wood... :)
I did wonder for a moment if it was me reading more into the story of the subject of each of these pictures instead of the colour. But when I considered them more closely their subjects aren't that much different, each one has wonderful elements of vintage crafts and patterns ~ crochet, vintage buttons, doilies and old fashioned rose patterns.
It's all about the colour combinations... and there you have my musings for this Monday afternoon... ;)
A wonderful day to you all... :)

colour palette ~ autumn blush...

I'm especially enjoying this palette today as it is perfectly representative of the colours we've been seeing in our local park this week. Edinburgh has been in full 'pretty autumn' mode with the sun shining down on gorgeous golden leaves. We've been walking ankle deep (or belly deep for my wee man!) through piles of crunchy leaves in just these colours. Everything from those soft muted greens to the bright ochre shades and those yummy pinky browns ~ lovely... :)
I do hope you all get to enjoy a wee bit of seasonal loveliness this weekend, have a fabby one... !

colourful outlook...
I have been editing photos all day and *I think* I have successfully managed to edit out the nasty green tinge cast by the scaffold netting that still surrounds out building. There is light at the end of the tunnel though, as it won't be long before all the work is complete and said scaffolding will be gone, yay! It has felt like a very long four months indeed, but it will be so worth it when our building is looking all spiffy and has a clean bill of health. Although I'm sure I won't be so pleased when the actual bill comes through... !Anyhoo, back to the shop update, I'll be adding these ladies over the next few days. If you like you can keep a wee eye on my Facebook page for all the updates. I have already added wee Polly, a new petite flower garland, and two 'design your own' garland listings, one for my Forever Flower Garlands and one for my Petite Flower Garlands.
I hope you all had a much more interesting day than me... !?

yummy yarn lust...
Today I'm starting a new line of yarn themed posts that I think you will love, at least I hope you will... !? I was struck with the inspiration when I saw this gorgeous shot of ban.do's beautiful silk flower brooches / hairpins...
I absolutely adore the colours and instantly imagined them as yummy yarns waiting to be whipped up into some gorgeous new project. Maybe a beautiful crochet blanket or even a pretty fair isle cardigan, one that has a band of intricate pattern just around the neckline. Just thinking about it makes me wish I was better with my fair isle technique, which at the moment is pretty much non existent... !Anyhoo back to my idea, which is to find a whole bunch of yummy yarns inspired by said gorgeous photograph. So without further ado, here are some very yummy yarns for to lust over and maybe even treat yourself to... :)

Hello my sweets! How are your Mondays going so far... !?
Mine is a wee bit chilly here in Edinburgh this morning, the wind is blustery and the sky is grey. My man is still home sick and I'm doing my utmost to ensure Mr Lurgy doesn't want to visit me next! All in all I'm in need of 'a wee pick me up', yep it's getting to 'that time' of year again!
Which brings me to today's wee collection of warm and uplifting images from 'all colours in'. They are certainly lifting my spirits and giving me a reason to be cheerful this Monday. I do hope you're loving them too... !?
Wishing you all a cosy Monday,

colour palette ~ turquoise and tan...

~ image credits : 1. Smile and Wave, 2. morgenrosa, 3. tinctory, 4. Sweet.Eventide ~Now to fill the rest of my afternoon I'm off to put a hearty casserole (or is it stew?) in the oven and mix up a batch of Yorkshire pudding batter. My man is feeling a wee bit under the weather with a stinky cold and is need of some tlc... :( Some good food should help him feel a wee bit better. Then I need to tidy up my wee studio and photograph a few new things ready for the shop next week.
Until then I do hope you all have a wonderful weekend, see you next week... :)

UK ~ National wool week...
"The Campaign for Wool is a cross-industry initiative convened by HRH The Prince of Wales in January 2010. As a serious environmentalist, the Prince believes the natural, sustainable origin and highly technical structure of wool can offer fashion, interiors and the built environment many superior benefits. Choosing real wool - as the Prince understands - will also help to care for our planet. The combined efforts of the leading wool organisations, industry associations and the textile industry across the world has created a campaign to promote the wonderful properties that wool offers to textiles and in doing so, help to support sheep farming as an industry and the textile community internationally.
LIVE NATURALLY...CHOOSE WOOL"
So today I thought I would bring you some environmentally sound and wonderful woolly finds from some very talented folk of the Etsy UK community...

Today I thought I would share with you some yummy aqua and orange finds from the 'all colours in' pool. It's such a classic colour combination and one that a lot of crafty folk seem to be using at the moment. What I like about it is that it has that vintage appeal but still looks fresh and modern. Plus it has that seasonal appeal with the orange and generally just looks so darn cheery. Love it!
Have a great Monday!
