...and colourful geometry too! i can't help it, lately i seem to be collecting lots of geometric inspiration and these are just a few that i'm especially loving today. i think it's because of the similar colour theme running through them ~ those lovely turquoise blues and soft greens combined with dirty whites, greys and taupe. while the splashes of hot pinks, reds and mustard keep them fresh and lively ~ love it... !

good morning my dears! i hope you all had a fab weekend!?
mine was very quiet... apart from walking the dog and replenishing the chocolate supplies i spent most of it crocheting while watching films*, drinking hot cups of tea and probably eating far too much of said chocolate ~ i've found a new favourite, Divine fair trade bars... very yummy! i've only tried their 70% and raspberry varieties so far, but the rest are on my 'must try chocolate list'... ;)

a wee bit nippy...

yep, Edinburgh is feeling just a wee bit more nippy than usual this Thursday afternoon... so i have delved into the back of the wardrobe for a cosy cardi and am currently sporting a pair of equally cosy woolly socks to keep my wee toes happy... :)
(actually i always have chilly toes, so it's quite rare for me not to be wearing some level of sock cosiness!)
also this afternoon, i have been pondering over a brand new treasury collection ~ falling for...

...every single one of the delightful finds!
really, i so wish i could have all of these come to live with me, especially one of kjoo's gorgeous leather and crochet bracelets... *sigh*

some random inspiration from my favourite Flickr today ~ Posy's sofa has been one of my most favourite images for as long as i can remember! although it's not a style i practice in my own home, i much prefer a more visually quiet look, i do find it endlessly inspiring. the colour and pattern, texture and warmth, the vintage and handmade... just lovely! ~ oh, and who doesn't love a wonderful pic, as well as a boxful, of those delicately coloured and flavoured macaroons... !?

edited to add: i have just received the sweetest e-mail form none other than miss Posy herself, yes the owner of that endlessly inspiring sofa arrangement! i am hanging my head in shame because, until she introduced them to me just now, i had not discovered her fabulous granny chic blog and flickr photostream! what's more, miss Posy is also an avid crocheter and this afternoon i am finding myself lusting after her colourful vintage hook collection ~ i'm feeling a wee bit jealous to say the least with only three in my own collection... ;)

ga-ga for garlands...

i feel like i've gone completely 'ga-ga' for garlands lately with so many of these colourful new ladies hanging in my studio! most of whom are now gracing my wee shop shelves waiting for someone else to go completely 'ga-ga' over them... ;)
included in these new listings are a couple of all new 'petite' forever flower garlands such as the ever so lovely miss gloria and the just as sweet miss mavis. what makes them petite is their tiny wee blooms which are half the size of my regular garlands... but do not worry your pretty wee heads! you still get plenty of flower for your pennies as they longer than the regular garlands and have more pretty wee blooms to keep you just as sweet... :)
you may have also noticed that i am now adding my wee signature embroidered daisy tag to all my new garlands, as well as most of the new ladies i'll be making from now on... really, it's kinda silly that i haven't been doing this until now... !

hello my lovelies, i hope you're all enjoying your fabulous Friday so far!?
this week i feel i'm being drawn to these rich and earthy tribal inspired colours and patterns. i think it must be those Mexican tiles from last weekend and maybe a need for visual warmth, as we draw closer to the early autumn months, that is luring me in... :)

oh btw, sorry for going 'AWOL' yesterday! the day just seemed to get sucked up with lots of prep work like photographing, editing and writing ready for a wee shop update. the first of which is miss gloria, a brand new 'mini' forever flower garland who is gracing my wee shop shelves as wee speak... :)
i've also been busying myself with learning how to put together 'line sheets' and have spent most of this morning preparing those for some of my ladies. easy once you know how and have figured out a format that looks good as well as getting all the relevant info in there. getting to that stage is what i found to be so time consuming, hence the reason i'm running late again today!
anyway, everything seems to be under control now and, apart from needing to take one or two more photos, i'm all ready to add a few more lovely ladies to the shop over the next few days, keep your eyes peeled... :)

perfect festival weather...

so this morning i found myself with a wee bit of spare time to sort through the snaps i took at the weekend ~ presenting... a perfect Sunday afternoon spent meandering through Princes Street Gardens, on our way to the West End Fair at St.John's Church...

these last two pics are my favourites from the fair ~ the first is of a gorgeous fair trade range of up-cycled Indian textiles from the One World stall, and the second is of some really beautiful mexican terracotta tiles from the Caoba stall. i did bag myself something from each of these stalls, including a wee pile of those mini mexican tiles to go with the thrifty finds i picked up at the flea market in the Grassmarket the day before. i shall do my bestest to take some pretty pics of my wee haul for you... :)

i would so love to start my own wee collection of these wonderful bowls and plates but will have to wait until i have a home with a much bigger kitchen in which to display it properly... for the time being i'm having to content myself with perusing the isles of Etsy and lusting over these gorgeous colours and patterns!

good morning! i trust you all had a fabulous weekend... ?

we were treated to two bonus days of fabulous summer heat here in Edinburgh ~ yay! ~ and what better way to spend it than soaking up some of the wonderful festival atmosphere in the city centre!? i did remember to take my camera with me yesterday (completely forgot on Saturday!) so you can expect some of those pics later in the week... ;)
that is after i've sorted out my wee studio, which seems to have got into a good working mess again but to the point where it feels like i have no space to think... you know how it is!
i also really need to clear my 'photographing spot' so that by the end of the week i can introduce you to a few new ladies who are waiting in the wings... :)

so much to do, so i had best get going and make a start... !

yay it's nearly the weekend! and guess what... my sheer stubbornness at refusing to let go of the summer has tempted the sun from behind those nasty thunderstorms and it looks set to be a lovely one ~ woo-hoo!
now onto today's' colour palette, i do hope you like this wee collection of retro inspired teal and turquoise with pretty hints of orange and red? i know i've posted a lot of these colours already this week, but hey! when you've got a good thing going, why spoil it... ;)
over the last couple of days i have, quite randomly, pinned all of these lovelies to my 'granny chic' pinboard and when i saw them looking so perfectly co-ordinated this morning i just had to share them with you... i know, i'm too kind... ;)
actually, it was quite nice to break free from the realms of my Flickr favourites for today's palette, so i think i may do it more often and mix things up a wee bit... what do you think?

from top to bottom ~ my man, an antler moth, a pink flower (can't remember it's name!), a small copper butterfly and a peacock butterfly. there were lots of cabbage white butterflies too, but they weren't so accommodating when it came to being photographed!
