weekend inspiration : calming neutrals

Over the last week I've been adding a lot of simple and uncluttered images to my flickr favourites. Lots of soothing and calming neutrals with just wee pops of colour here and there...

I picked out these few because of their warmth, texture and 'cosy home' feel. I love the small snippets of lace and crochet, just seeing them makes me want to start work on a new lacy bedspread. It's so chilly here that I just want to keep piling pretty blankets onto the bed! Oh, and what about that gorgeous pendant light, that I just realised looks like a giant sea urchin!? Originally it came from here but they don't seem to do them anymore, although I'm sure with a wee bit of thought and patience it wouldn't be impossible to make one yourself, or at least something similar?

Wishing you all a calm and cosy weekend,
Emma, x

  1. oh those are all such lovely photos! making a pendant light sounds like an exciting adventure :) i've always loved the lotus blossom ones by ikea! they're just a bit similar.

  2. Beautiful pictures, the textures and warm creamy colours are gorgeous! Have a nice and Christmassy weekend ;-)

  3. Great pics there! I have been meaning to comment for ages, sorry for my slackness. I have been keeping up with your posts though! These photos are great, but they do tend to make me jealous and make me want to redecorate my house!! The lamp and the balloon softies are fantastic. Hope you are having a great weekend too. :)

  4. These are beautiful! Love the palette--so calming.

  5. Lovely, sweet selection-
