...so who deserves a gold star, or maybe a wee gold crochet flower would be more apt!? i'm sure all of you do! of course these wee lovelies were destined to be strung into pretty 'forever flower garlands' :)
...it's been such a long time since i've spent a few quiet minutes just crocheting flowers, i had almost forgotten how soothing and satisfying they are ~ they're so quick, very pretty and best of all they're a great use for all those oddments of left over yarn, which i seemed to have accumulated a lot of after all those hours of 'pot-holdering'...
...and what i love about making them into garlands is their ability to pretty up the place in an instant! perfect for adding a much needed splash of colour and a touch of 'granny chicness' to a now bare wall...
...i'm also thinking they would look fab draped around a christmas tree, but at the moment i'm drawing the line at unearthing our wee tree from the depths of it's dark cupboard, certainly not in november anyway!
...i'm sure there are plenty of other ways to use these 'forever flower garlands', but at the moment i'm quite taken with the granny chic christmas tree idea, and this time i'm actually thinking my man might not object especially since it isn't a permanent feature!
...now i'm wondering if i can sneak in a carefully chosen twig artfully painted white ~ something like this ~ hmmm, i think i'm going to have to get a wee bit crafty ;)
...if you have any other ideas for these wee lovelies i'd love to hear them, and i'm sure i don't need all three so i shall pop one or two in the shop over the weekend...
...well, maybe ;)

ReplyDeleteenjoy!
I think they look perfectly charming and festive the way you have them here Emma! Especially against that white wall - so nice!
ReplyDeleteThe garlands are so pretty! They will look gorgeous on your Christmas tree. Cant wait to see it!
ReplyDeleteThey would even look nice hanging down from a chandelier or advent wreath, not a whole garland but single flowers ;-) Last Christmas I made some mohair-flowers in dusky colours and decorated our chandelier with them and vintage baubles. It looked very nice!
Have a nice weekend, I hope you have better weather than we do ;-(
